WELCOME TO THE TROOP 1157 DOCUMENTARY WEBSITE

In the winter of 2004 we came across a list of women…..really phenomenal women….who used to be Girl Scouts. These women are authors, actors, politicians, athletes, educators, businesswomen, and so much more. We started talking about how wonderful it would be if we could find out what impact Girl Scouting may have made on each woman's life. We dreamed about the possibilities of what we could do with this information if these women were willing to share their stories with us.

Since everyone in our troop loves the movies we decided to turn our ideas into a documentary film project. Our first steps included finding a focus for our documentary, time lining the project, and preparing the budget. We contacted several the women on the list. Last winter we received training in film production and interviewing skills.

On July 17, 2005 Troop #1157 will depart for a ten day trip to New York City and Washington D.C. During this time we are so lucky to have the opportunity to meet and interview several wonderful women about their memories and experiences as a Girl Scout.

Two girls are in high school, while the remaining 6 are in their last year of middle school. Mrs. Copeland has been our co-leader for the last 5 years.
