Film Treatment: On My Honor (working title)
Cadette Girl Scout Troop #1157 Gold Award Documentary
Purpose of the Film
-
To explore, through interviews, the memories and impact of Girl Scouting on women of notable professional accomplishment and women who are publicly recognized and/or highly regarded.
-
To show how Girl Scouting has contributed to their achievement and success.
-
To show that today's Girl Scout program helps nurture the same elements that accomplished women cherished.
-
To promote respect for the Girl Scout movement.
Approach to the Film
The approach to filming will be a controlled interview setting and documentary in style. We wish to explore, through questions, experiences each woman had while active as a Girl Scout. We plan to include, when available, video footage and photographs of each woman when she was a Girl Scout. Interviews of girls enrolled in today's program will be included, as well as footage of comments collected randomly from individuals not involved in Girl Scouting about their perceptions of Girl Scouting.

Funding
Funding and support for our documentary project will come from several sources. For several years the troop has raised money through Girl Scout cookie sales and other council fundraisers.
The majority of our film training, equipment and editing will be donated from individuals and businesses in the film and production community of Tampa Bay.
In February our troop assisted the Film Foundation of Tampa Bay with their annual Academy Awards Fundraising Gala. In return the Foundation granted the troop 50% of the proceeds.
